Very smart boot, beautiful cordorvan color. Leather supple and shiny. Wore them all day with no foot strain or pain. Nice lug soles for snow and ice, yet they look pretty.

Khombu Women’s Latergator Rubber Boot (Apparel)

I have only had these for one season. They looked very durable, made of heavy rubber and certainly kept the snow and rain out. However, after only 2 months of wear, they are cracked at the ankle. I bought these thinking that since they are slightly more than rain boots, they would last much longer. Sadly, not so. Shame- they look good.

October 20, 2010Have had these for 2 weeks. Very cute boots. You can barely tell they’re rain boots. Slightly hard to walk in because they’re heavy and have a heel.May 18, 2011Above is the review I wrote when I first got these. A month or so ago I noticed that they cracked around the ankle area. Ridiculous! What’s the point in paying $85 for boots if they’re going to crack?! Also, they have been harsh on the smaller toes. I have to wear really thick socks in order for it to be comfortable. Really disappointed because I was super excited about these initially.

Keen Women’s Springwater Bike Shoe (Apparel)

At first I thought the Keens would be too narrow for my feet, but after trying them out I realized how comfy and efficient they are. I can ride for dozens of miles without any foot pain or fatigue; I can walk for short distances in total comfort. There’s lots of wiggle room for exactly where you want to place your foot on the pedal, so you’re not locked into an uncomfortable position. I was able to adjust the cleats to the best tension for my foot, and the shoe provides maximum power transfer. After hundreds of miles in these shoes, I’ve never had a hot spot and my heel never slips around. The shoes are very easy to get on and off. And if you (like me) need a shoe with a roomy toe box, this is the perfect shoe for you. One minor complaint–there’s not much ventilation so I’ll probably go with the Keen commuter sandals for the Arizona summers.

I originally saw these in an REI catalog pre-Christmas but they were out of my price range…even for holidays. They were exactly what I wanted. My feet were so cold in my old mostly mesh bike shoes in January/February that I pursued on-line and found them at a good price (free shipping too!), I ordered Monday and had them by Friday and was riding on Saturday! I like the brand, I like the looks and they feel great. Very high quality.
