Baffin Women’s Madison Waterproof Boot (Apparel)

We were looking for something warm, comfortable and not too unfeminine for walking on a Utah college campus. We ordered several boots and this was the winner by far. This review was written after trying on 6 styles of different brands, and walking around the house. But as it’s boot buying time and there was no review – here is mine.The only thing we gave up in this style was not having rubber around the sides of the foot, but at least it’s not suede and it can be retreated with water protection over time.Quality: Well, it’ a Baffin, so we assume it is well made but won’t know till snow and temps fall. Cold Rating: Many Baffins are rated for -40 F degrees or lower. This one is only rated for -4 F. But it is lined from toe to top with a dense thin insulation. It does not have a separate inner liner. But since it comes up to the bottom of the knee in front I believe that extra coverage will help by protecting the leg more and holding more heat.Comfort: This boot fits a woman’s foot very well, no big clunky feet. And we tried it with thick sock and it was still comfortable so there is plenty of room. You can move your foot as the bed is flexible and you can move your ankle, although it still seems a tad stiff in the front of the ankle, I expect that will loosen up with wear. The boot is not too heavy and I don’t see it making a campus walk seem long. The long side zipper makes it a very easy boot to put on. Those laces are completely decorative and won’t change a thing. Looks: Well, we were VERY pleasantly surprised at how cute this looks on. Even for thick calves the cut of this is very flattering. It fits nicely around the ankle. The elastic on the back side top, is nice and comfortable and the top was still loose – but doesn’t look like it. It looks so cute, we decided not to hide it behind pants and fortunately the top is wide enough that there is plenty of space to tuck pants in. It also looks super trendy under a skirt. I love these boots. The quality is outstanding. They are made from real, soft suede leather. The trim around boots is genuine leather. They are so comfortable! They are narrow which is fine for me since I have a narrow foot. I usually wear a 6 1/2 but ordered a 7 in these boots. They fit perfectly. So I would order at least a 1/2 size up.If you have a wide foot you might want to go a whole size up or these just might not be for you. I paid about $35 for these and that was such a steal!You can also wear them folded down like an ankle boot or pull them up and wear them a little longer. About calf length. There is also plenty of room to tuck jeans in!!

Hands down, they are simply my favorite pair of boots, ever. Perhaps my favorite footwear period. I’ve also received plenty of compliments to the same. They are fun, comfortable, and I love the style. Quality-wise, they are holding up better than other Demonia products I’ve owned. (I generally think their products leave a little to be desired in the quality of construction department, but these boots are an exception.)The soles are beginning to wear, but I’ve owned these boots for 10 months now and have worn them 1/3 of the days since then, and that includes doing a LOT of walking around campus and a LOT of dancing.
