Dansko Women’s Sissy Sandal (Apparel)

I have these in three colors and find them more comfortable than ANY other shoe I own, excluding my running shoes. I have lots of foot problems and normally need an orthotic, but I can walk in these all day without pain. Plus, they’re remarkably cute (for such a “sensible” shoe) — great with pants for work, or sundresses on weekends. I am a 40 in Dansko boots / clogs, but take a 39 in these. They’re definitely most comfortable when secure to the foot, and the adjustable buckles allows you to tighten if the leather stretches over time. Can’t wait for summer to arrive so I can wear them again.

Vibram Five Fingers KSO (Apparel)

The first to fit my feet with no discomfort. Wow, Vibram has created a shoe designed to fit a healthy toe spread! No more cramming toes into disfiguring shoes. If you like to go barefoot a lot, or you do yoga or you just have a healthy natural toe spread, then you will love these shoes as well. They are not pretty, no doubt about it, but the extreme comfort compensates for it a hundred times over. I use mine when I am exercising outdoors or doing “sporty” activities. Otherwise, I am usually in open toe sandals or barefoot. Based on the fivefingers sizing chart, I thought I was going to be a size 38, but I was planning to wear mine with toe socks so I decided to try them on locally. I ended up purchasing a size 39 so I suggest sizing up if you have doubts. They do take a little longer to put on, but that gets quicker with practice. Also, if you are not accustomed to being “barefoot”, prepare to work muscles in your feet and legs that you may not have used before.

Hands-down, this is the most comfortable pair of footwear of any type I’ve ever owned. They’re far better than any other flip-flops, better than Crocs, and better than any sneakers I’ve worn. I have pretty severe plantar fascitis, which forces me either to be picky about my shoes or endure a great deal of pain. I haven’t been able to wear flip-flops or sandals for two years because of it. But after I’d worn these for only two days, my foot pain began to lessen. Now, after ten days of wearing exclusively my Tone-Ups, I’m virtually pain free. In fact, I’ve just ordered a second pair. I can’t say much about the toning, as I haven’t worn these for any strenuous exercise. However, the backs of my thighs feel a little bit achy when I walk upstairs, and I have awakened the past three nights to a slightly crampy feeling in my calves, so it’s clear they’re working my muscles a little differently than I’m used to. I’ll take that as a nice little bonus, especially since I’m not doing anything different physically. All in all, wonderful!

Clarks Unstructured Women’s Un.Crow Sandal (Apparel)

I have been looking for the perfect red sandals for several years, and have finally found them. These are truly RED, not burgundy, not red brown, etc., and that is so hard to find. They are comfortable to wear all day, yet stylish and pretty on the foot. The footbed is leather, so it doesn’t stick to my bare foot. Hurrah for Clark’s!
